Simple Tips On How To Motivate Yourself Every Day
“Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.” – Wayne Dyer
One of the biggest challenges I faced in my journey to improve myself was to stay motivated, especially on days when everything seemed bleak. So how to motivate yourself daily and ensure you are on the right track to improving? Below are some of my simple tips on how to motivate yourself every day when life seems complicated.
Motivation, What Is, And Why It Is So Important For You.
“We talk on principal, but act on motivation.” – Walter Savage Landor
The term “motivation” describes why a person does something; it is the driving force behind human actions, the process that initiates, guides, and maintains goal-oriented behaviors.
The two main types of motivation are:
– Extrinsic motivation arises from outside the individual and involves external rewards.
– Intrinsic motivation is internal and arises from within the individual.
You probably already know that simply wanting to achieve a goal is not always enough. Different elements are necessary to become and stay motivated; researchers have identified three significant components of motivation:
- activation – which is the decision to initiate a behavior,
- persistence – is the continuous effort toward a goal, even though there may be obstacles,
- intensity – the focus and vigor involved in pursuing a dream.
What Is The Best Way To Motivate Yourself?
“The way to stay inspired and motivated is by doing what you like, doing what you love.” – Raphael Saadiq
Understanding what motivates you gives you many valuable insights and helps answer why some types of motivation are more beneficial than others. Motivation reflects something unique about you and enables you to achieve valuable outcomes such as improved performance, increased well-being, personal growth, or a sense of purpose; it helps you change how you think, feel, and behave. It is the defining factor that turns a good thought into immediate action, turns a good idea into a business, and can positively impact the world around you.
Every person is unique and has a purpose. To manage your purpose well, you need to be motivated to work towards your goals. The best way to motivate yourself is to do what you love and remember what got you started every day. Eliminate distractions and then focus on one thing to achieve your goals. Take little steps every day.
How Can You Stay Motivated Daily?
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing—that’s why we recommend it daily.” – Zig Ziglar
Start the day with time for yourself, meditate, exercise, and eat a healthy meal. Perfect morning, right? But how to do all of this in the mornings when you don’t want to leave the bed when all seems too much of a struggle? Here are some tips to help you stay motivated.
• Always remember your mission. Remember why you wanted to get motivated or reach that goal in the first place. If you do what YOU want and what YOU think is good for you, it will be easier for you to focus and be motivated.
• Do it step by step. Breaking your goal into small steps and progressing gradually from one stage to the next can be inspiring. If you can see evidence that you’re making progress, you are more likely to want to continue, and it also improves your self-esteem.
• Celebrate each small step. Promise yourself some reward every time you complete a task. Notice and celebrate the small victories you achieve, acknowledging that you are well on your way to achievement.
• Ask for help. If you’re struggling to stay motivated, talk to someone you trust. Asking for help offers new ideas and maybe a new perspective. Also, having other people encourage you to keep going can significantly boost your motivation, especially during hard times.
• Find mentors. Mentors support, encourage, boost your confidence, help you develop problem-solving skills, and help you change your life. The right mentor for you is someone you look up to, who has experience with the habit you want to change and can guide you toward your goals.
• Take care of your mind, body, and soul. Taking care of your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health gives you motivation and the fuel you need to live a happy, healthy, and fulfilled life. Your well-being comes not only from your physical health but also from your mental and spiritual health.
• Organize yourself. If you organize and plan your work and activities in an orderly and efficient way, your productivity and performance will increase. You’ll also have a greater sense of control, vital to stress management, resilience, and overall well-being.
• Replace bad habits with good ones. All your habits, good or bad, are in your life for a reason, so don’t eliminate a bad habit, replace it; using the same muscle memory is much easier. Routines become automatic behavior and greatly influence how you think, act, and feel; they are the brain’s shortcut to behaving and feeling in specific ways.
• Surround yourself with positive people that lift you. Be around those who always want to become more, strive to achieve something great, empower you, and push you to improve. Be selective about who you spend your time with; if you want to impact your life positively, you need to surround yourself with the right people.
When Nothing Seems To Work, Change Your Perspective
“You’re so much stronger than your excuses.” – Unknown
When you change how you perceive a situation, you change how you feel about it. A shift in perspective allows for a total point of view in almost any situation, you have more creativity and control over your choices and actions, and you are more appreciative, positive, and happier. To change your perspective, you must change your emotional and mental inputs and find sources of positive influence, such as books, blogs, and spiritual leaders.
Remember, you always have a choice on how you see a situation; you can identify the positive of every experience or the negative. Think about the many challenging moments you have endured throughout your life; at that moment, they seemed impossible obstacles, yet you succeeded. You are still here, stronger because of those moments, and more confident in yourself. Life has easy or hard moments; your choice will ultimately matter. You choose to do what you know will benefit you, or you choose to do nothing.
In Conclusion
“I’m alive, motivated and ready to slay the day #MONSLAY.” – Unknown
Motivation is essential in changing and improving your life and is the driving force behind human actions. Doing what you love and remembering what got you started every day, understanding what motivates you, eliminating distractions, and then focusing on your goals can allow you to know how to motivate yourself even when you’re not having a good day.
Just like you have to work on your mental, physical, and spiritual health every day, to be motivated daily, you have to work on it every day. Be selective about who you spend time with, find mentors, and ask for help when needed. Life is hard sometimes, we all have bad, difficult moments when it’s hard for us to feel motivated, and yet it’s most important not to give up and do our best to change our perspective and move forward.

Or if you have more questions or need help, I am always happy to help.
There were many times in my life when I felt like giving up. There was no support, I was alone and life just wouldn’t stop throwing curve balls at me. But, somehow I found the courage to go on and over time developed strong resilience. As you said, keeping motivated to keep trying was the hardest thing to do. This article reminded me about those parts of my journey and how happy I became after changing my perspectives on things. Things happen in life – good and bad. We have to learn how to keep going in spite of what happens. Thank you for the great reminder!
